Meet Simon Althoff

We are excited to introduce you to Simon Althoff, one of our talented AI enthusiasts and problem solvers at Algorithma.

Simon's journey into the world of AI began during his master's thesis in Engineering Mathematics, where he found the perfect blend of theoretical and practical aspects. "Writing my thesis with Algorithma and joining the company full time was an obvious choice," Simon shares.

His passion for AI stems from its intersection of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. "AI allows for solving fascinating problems across industries, aligning perfectly with my passion for tackling complex issues with equally intriguing solutions," he remarks.

In the collaborative culture at Algorithma, Simon thrives in team dynamics, guiding collaborative efforts toward common goals. "The projects where we develop new specialized solutions are the most rewarding - the essence of teamwork!"

One of Simon's notable achievements is the publication of a scientific article during his master's thesis. Accepted at the 12th Symposium on Conformal and Probabilistic Prediction, it was great to present it at the conference.

In the dynamic field of AI, Simon stays curious and ensures continuous learning through hands-on experimentation. "Taking the time to do some research between projects, either to understand a new technology or to write and publish in scientific journals, is how I stay up to date," he shares.

Simon sees his work at Algorithma making a positive impact through responsible AI practices. "With a focus on responsible application of AI, I think my work at Algorithma has the potential to assist companies and organizations to align with environmental, social and economic sustainability goals."

Beyond his professional life, Simon is into outdoor activities like running, hiking, and snowboarding. He holds a student pilot license in paragliding, a passion he can't wait to pick up again.

Looking ahead, Simon aspires to drive positive change through the development of novel algorithms, creating positive impact, and enabling new forms of sustainable business. "Apart from that, I hope to assist in creating an inclusive and friendly workplace, where knowledge is shared in all directions, facilitating the best possible team."

Feel free to connect with Simon and join us on this exciting AI journey!
